Starting another sashless quilt, based on what I did in the Sunshine and Shadow Quilt Tutorial. But this one’s for my newest grandson Chris, adopted into our family this past December. Chris is eleven, so a “baby” quilt just won’t do, but every grandchild has a quilt from me, and soon he will too.
In pieces, on the pin wall. Having a pin wall is a real luxury, I think. Short of a stiff breeze, all the pieces stick there until I’m ready to sew it together (tomorrow).
The rows are marked. My Spring Break is half over and I still have a few things to get done, as Robert Frost noted: “And miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep.”

That’s going to be a great boy quilt for Chris! There is something wonderful about red, blue and white! And I love the bike fabric too!
That is downright boyish! 🙂 So jealous of your pin wall…. (My auto-correct wanted to make pinwall into pinwale, of which I once made a quilt ironically enough.)
What wonderful colors in that quilt, Elizabeth – just love it! And yes, a design wall is something else. Mine has been upstairs from my work studio, but I’m in the process now of redoing the studio to make room for a wall in it – closer to the work!
This is going to be a wonderful boy quilt. Great color scheme and fabrics. Your grandchildren are so lucky.
you have an adopted grandkid?! how have I not known this yet?! his quilt is looking awesome so far, love it! i love my design wall, although I need to clear the floor in front of it so I can get to it easier. ha.
